Do you ever have the desire to escape the routines of your life, to get out and merge with nature, observe wildlife and experience your world from a different perspective? If you answered, "yes" to any of that, then read on. The Tennessee River Gorge Island provides all of these opportunities.  This part of the river is the most beautiful and untouched of the 26   mile TRG and the widest part of the gorge at almost 1/2 of a mile wide.  Water here only moving 3-4 MPH year round. Even after heavy rains. With 1,800' ft. mountains and cliffs. Highest of all the 652 miles of the Tennessee River.  Prentice Cooper State Forest   (24.686 acres) that we share property lines has 35 miles of hiking trails along TRG.

The Tennessee River Gorge has 27,000 acres to explore.

Nesting and fishing Bald Eagles, Skull Cap Eagles (only native to 26 miles of TRG). Osprey, Great Blue Heron, Wood   Ducks, Red-breasted merganser, Kingfishers, Blue birds, Pileated woodpeckers.

Beavers, and Otters. Fishing at its best. Small and Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Blue Catfish, Perch, and many more.

70% of all the land through The TRG is owned by the TVA, Prentice Cooper State Forest and TRG Trust has been acquiring for   conservation since 1981.
